Extreme cold. Extreme people. Extremely good cause. Each winter across our state hundreds of Special Olympics Kansas fans and athletes face freezing waters and take the plunge. The Polar Plunge has become the largest and most popular fundraising event for Special Olympics Kansas. Taking the Polar Plunge is a great way to show you're a fan of Special Olympics Kansas! The 2011 Polar Plunge begins at 9:30am with a Cross Country Run; 5K Strut & 1 mile Fun Run; then at 11 am is the PLUNGE! All to benefit Special Olympics Kansas. There is an Early Bear Party at 8am, registration begins at 8:30am, and there's an After Party at Long MacArthur Ford. Be sure to join the After Party hosted by the Saline County Blue Thunder! $5 donation will buy your meal. All proceeds from the After Party go to the local program. Prizes will be awarded at the After Party. Must be present to win. Register online at www.firstgiving.com/ksso, click "Get Started" and select Salina Plunge.
