Event Description: Four prominent Salina business persons have been selected to the fifth class of the Salina Business Hall of Fame. They are: Winfield W. Watson, (Pioneer 1858-1925), owner of Watson, Durand-Kasper Wholesale Grocery Company; Whitley Austin, former editor and publisher of The Salina Journal, and Verla Nesbitt Jocelyn, former owner of the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company in Salina (Historic 1926-1975); and Jack Vanier, President and owner of Western Star Ag Resources, Inc. (Contemporary 1976-present). A luncheon inducting and honoring the recipients will be held Tuesday, November 3 at the Ramada Hotel and Convention Center, 1616 W. Crawford. The featured speaker will be Dr. Kirk Schulz, president of Kansas State University. Tickets are $20 per person. Reservations for the luncheon are required.
